Robert (Bob) Davis, 92 of Port St. Lucie, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family at Treasure Coast Hospice in Florida.
Born in Rotterdam, New York, on April 26, 1931, Robert was predeceased by his parents Jesse and Beatrice (Vrooman) Davis, daughter Cynthia Russell (Steve) and brothers A. George Davis, Jesse Davis, and Ronald Davis.
Robert is survived by his wife Helen (Kelly) Davis, his son Scott (Linda) and grandchildren Dana (Russell) Allin (Christopher), Victoria Russell, Evan Russell, Ian Davis (Daniel), Alisha Davis and Garrett Davis.
Robert proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
Robert received a bachelor’s degree from Union College and later retired after a 33-year career as an executive at General Electric. Robert was very involved in his community, he was a Mason, 37-year member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Councilman for the City of Port St. Lucie, Commissioner of St. Lucie County Housing Authority, Chairman of the Board of the Humane Society of St. Lucie County and an Elder for the All Villages Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services for Robert will be held at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following there will be a burial at Viewland Cemetery at Cobblestone Reformed Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions in Robert’s name be made to the Humane Society of St. Lucie County, 8890 Glades Cut-Off Road, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986.
Robert Davis will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
