Robert C Countermine

Robert C. Countermine, 78, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Schenectady, Robert was the son of the late Claude and Margaret (Morris) Countermine. Robert worked as a heavy equipment operator at the NYS Department of Transportation for 37 years until his retirement in 1989. Robert was a skilled carpenter and mason, who in his free time enjoyed wood working. His wife and children were the light of his life. Robert is predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Raymond, and a sister, Irene. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Karen R. (LaFreniere) Countermine, his loving children, Laura L. Keeler (Brian) of Norman, OK, Kenneth R. Countermine (Kate) of Glenville and Justin Countermine (Noel) of Schenectady, sisters, Claudette Smith of Schenectady and Maryann Jones (Thomas) of Princetown. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel, Joseph, Abby, Hannah, Chris, Nick and Matt and great grandchildren, Jazzmine and Xavier. Funeral services will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's name can be made to Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
