Robert Carson

March 21, 1923 — August 3, 2006

Robert R. Carson, 83, of South Arrow Street, Colonie died suddenly on August 3, 2006. Robert was born in Newburgh, NY and was the son of the late Russell L. and Jennie (Hoffman) Carson. He served in the Army Air Corp. and the Air Force. Robert was employed for 20 years for Metropolitan Insurance Company in Albany and then for 21 years as a Safety Inspector for the New York State Insurance Fund until his retirement. He was a member of the Lishakill Reformed Church in Colonie. Robert enjoyed with his wife winters in Ft. McCoy, Florida and summers at their Sacandaga Lake Camp. He was an avid Golfer, playing in the Johnny Evers Golf League from 1961-2004. Robert was a member of the Berne Lodge, National Rifle Association, Gloversville Moose Lodge #351, and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife Jane LaForge Carson whom he married March 7, 1943, four children John Carson (Leona) of Clinton, Arkansas, Russell Carson (Ramona) of Niskayuna, Patricia Aviza ( Stephen) of Colonie and William Carson ( Kathy) of Clifton Park, also survived by 14 Grandchildren-Theresa Carson, Russell Carson III ( Laura), Erin Engstrom ( Leif), Maria Carson, Robert Carson, Janelle Pfister ( Rob), Julie Riccio, Christopher Aviza, Marc Aviza, Cheri Aviza, Diana Carson, Stephanie Carson, Ryan Carson and 5 Great Grandchildren-Antonio, Venn, Carson, Milan, and Anthony as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Monday evening 7PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Monday evening 4-7PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Internment will be at 1PM on Tuesday at the Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.
