Richard A. Yannotti, age 56 of Schenectady NY expired on October 26, 2012. Beloved son of Eleanor Pasquarello Yannotti and the late Anthony J. Yannotti. Cherished grandson of the late Merien and Mary Pasquarello and Joseph and Ethel Yannotti. Also great nephew of the late Louis and Mary Gizzi. Survived by brothers Arthur (Nancy) Yannotti and James (Christine) Yannotti, nieces Jennifer (Keith) Latham, Andrea (Daniel) Lucynski, Danielle Yannotti, Jessica Baia, and Ashley Baja, and nephew Joseph Yannotti. Also several surviving cousins. For the past 7 years Mr. Yannotti resided in Conway, South Carolina. He attended St. Michaels Archangel Catholic Church where he was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and one of their officers. He recently was awarded the prestigious Knight of the Year for Council #8980 by Grand Knight John Luse. This award was given for his years of volunteer work for their council. He also was a member of the Sons of Italy lodge of Myrtle Beach where he was also honored for his work and also active in the Outreach Ministry for the poor. Richard touched everyone's life with his generosity, kindness, and love. This was very evident in the love and appreciation shown him by the people of Myrtle Beach and also the long lasting affection of his friends in NY state. Richard graduated from the former Draper High School, class of 1975. He was employed as a mason's helper by Charles Farone, then later by the Schenectady Steel and Phelps Steel companies. His last employment was for the NY State Thruway Authority which he retired from. The family wishes to thank Father Raymond Carlo, Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy, and Outreach Ministry of Myrtle Beach, and also Father Richard Carlino of St. John the Evangelist Church Schenectady who was his religious mentor and friend. Lastly the family wishes to thank the great staff of the Ellis Hospital ER and C-1 of Ellis Medicine who gave so much of themselves in his recent illness. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Children's Hospital of Albany Medical Center, 47 New Scotland Ave., Albany NY 12208. Funeral Services will be Monday 9:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 10AM at St. John the Evangelist Church Union Street Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Sunday evening 5-7PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam.
