Richard E Kehrli

Richard Earl Kehrli,91, passed away on June 21, 2023 at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. He was born in Portland, Oregon on August 20, 1931. Rick was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Kehrli, brother Robert Kehrli and sister Ruby Ross. He is survived by his loving wife Carole, son Todd, daughter Liz her husband Chris Salpoglou, and cherished grandson Brady.

Raised on a large dairy farm in Scapoose Oregon he attended Grant High School and later joined the US Navy, serving during the Korean war. He received a BA in Business at Oregon State and then a Engineering degree at University of Oregon.

He married the love of his life, Carole Nitsche on August 11, 1962 and they raised their family, for the most part in Wappingers Falls, NY.

He worked at Tektronix as a software technician and salesman. He was an avid skier and enjoyed competing in the Giant Slalom. His last 20 years were spent in Schenectady, where he took an active role in the Bellevue Preservation Council.

He was a kind man who loved to travel, socialize, laugh, tell fascinating stories and was known for his
contagious smile. Rick was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 26th from 10-11AM at Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Ave, followed by a service at 11AM. Burial will take place at St. Cyril Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation or The American Cancer Society.
