Richard Gentile

Richard W. Gentile Jr. (Dick) passed away on Tuesday, July 19th. He was born in Newark, NJ to Richard and Pat Gentile. He then moved to Rotterdam, NY where he raised his family and was a lifelong resident.

Richard was a graduate of Draper School in Schenectady, NY and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He worked for New York State as a Civil Engineer.

Dick was predeceased by his wife Patty, his daughter Richelle, and his sisters, Karen and Linda. He is survived by his daughters Laurie and Denise Gentile, his son Richard W. Gentile III (Lesley), his stepsons Gene Ballmes Jr. (Kathy), David Ballmes (Holly), and his son-in-law James Strube.

His grandchildren Lauren, Renee, John Jr., Kyle, and Gannon. Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. An avid hunter and fisherman, Dick enjoyed his time most with his friends and family in the Adirondacks.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life ceremony Tuesday July 26th from 5-6:30 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
