Richard Dupont

Richard “Dick” A. DuPont Sr,79 passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 4, 2021 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.

Born and educated in Schenectady, Richard was the son of the late Walter and Irma (Frappier) DuPont and attended Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam.

Richard was a loyal 52year employee with the Golub Corporation in Schenectady following his honorable service in the United States Navy. He was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Rotterdam.

Beloved by his family and all who knew him, Richard was an avid Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed league bowling with family members and friends. He enjoyed many years at his Adirondack camp with his wife, children, grandchildren, and countless guests over many years. Richard had a great love for muscle cars and frequented classic car shows with his son and grandson; he also had a great love for casinos. Devoted to his family, Richard’s greatest joy was in his spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren.

Predeceased in October of 2017 by his beloved wife of 55 years Audrey (LaRowe) DuPont, Richard is survived by his children Richard DuPont II (Deidra) of Rotterdam, Kimberly Smith (Darlene Feeley) of Schenectady and Russell DuPont (Pamela) of Rotterdam, grandchildren Richard (Erin), Jessica (Jourdan), Jacob, Zackary (Alyssa), Angela (Tyrone) and Nikolas (Erika), and great grandchildren Cali, Angus, Arlo, Tyresha, & Tirone.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon August 10th at 1 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 12 noon to 1 pm.

Interment with military honors in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
