Richard F Countermine

Richard " Big Dick " Countermine 72 of Rotterdam died Friday morning June 2, 2006 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Rotterdam, he was the son of the late Claude and Margaret Countermine and the son in law of Ruth LaFreniere of Galway and the late Albert LaFreniere. Dick worked for the Town of Rotterdam for over 37 years, retiring as a Medium Equipment Operator in 1991. He also had worked for Schalmont Central Schools as a custodian and a bus monitor. Dick sold 50/50 tickets for the Originals Bowling league at Boulevard Bowl in Schenectady and enjoyed boat rides and fishing at his camp. Richard is survived by his wife of for 46 years Lenora H. Countermine (LaFreniere) who he married August 8, 1959, five children Richard Countermine Jr. and wife Debra of Rexford, Dale Countermine and Fianc?' Michele Spaulding of Rotterdam, Stephen Countermine and Fianc?' Debbi Zellan of Wilton, Randall Countermine of Rotterdam and Margaret Tenhoeve of Rotterdam, eight grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Kayle, Meghan, Shelby, Zackary, Brenna and Carly, two brothers Robert Countermine (Karen) of Schenectady, Raymond Countermine of Cobleskill, three sisters, Irene Watson of Rotterdam Junction, Claudette Smith and Mary Ann Jones( Tom) both of Rotterdam and several brother in laws and sister in laws and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning June 6, 2006 at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Monday evening June 5, 2006 from 6 to 8 pm. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam, NY.
