Richard Anderson Jr.

Richard Anderson Jr., 59, was born on February 14, 1965, in the Bronx, NY, as one of three children to Parx Williams. He passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Richard lived in Schenectady, NY most of his life and grew up in Yates Village. He was a receiving team lead at Railex, where he subsequently transitioned to Bimbo's Bakery, where he worked as a Production Associate/Machine Operator for the past five years. Richard was a caring and affectionate person who would go out of his way to help his family and close friends. He had a deep love for music and DJing, and he also enjoyed cooking and planning events for his family. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies, which he relished doing either by himself with his dog Pharaoh or with his children and grandchildren. Additionally, he was a passionate sports fan, with the NY Giants and NY Yankees being his favorite teams.

He was preceded in death by his brother Bryant Steen, his grandmother Mary Oliver, aunts Selema Buchanan, Ogeechee Nelson, and Izella Guy, as well as cousins Eshon Guy, Schamar Branch, and Betty Lawrence.

Richard is survived by his wife Hilary Anderson, his children Richard Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Omar Anderson, Amber Anderson, Alonzo Anderson, Tia Anderson, and Joshua Beals, his mother Parx Williams, his sister Chinessa Anderson, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was one of a kind and will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral Services for Richard will be Tuesday January 7, 2025, at 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Visitation will be prior from 12-1pm. Interment in Park View Cemetery.
