Richard Ahnert

Richard E. Ahnert Sr., 75, of Johnson Road Glenville died peacefully at home on Saturday. Richard is the son of the late Louis Ahnert and Harriet (Reynolds) Ahnert. He was born in Tribes Hill, NY. Richard was self employed for over 40 years as a contractor for Dick's Remodeling in Schenectady. He is predeceased by one son David Ahnert. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Bennett Ahnert whom he married February 23, 1952, two sons Richard E. Ahnert Jr. (Kim) of Johnstown, NY, Leonard Ahnert (Betty) of Gloversville, NY, three daughters Lorraine Smith (Jerry) of Red Hook, NY, Linda Kemp (John) of Schenectady, NY, Lisa Youngman (Ray) of Voorheesville, NY, two brothers William Ahnert of Amsterdam, NY, Walter Ahnert of Rensselaer, NY, two sisters Evelyn Brown of West Galway, NY, Harriet Ahnert of Florida, also survived by 14 grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Wednesday 3PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Calling Hour will be Wednesday 2-3PM at the Funeral Home.
