Reverend Stephen Bhulawan Sr

Reverend Stephen Bhulawan Sr., 76, of Schenectady passed away on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Trinidad, he was the son of the late Nathan and Irene (Sirju) Bhulawan.

He was employed as a Supervisor for Securitas Security Company. Stephen was a faithful worker for the company for 14 years.

Stephen’s life was based around God and service to his savior. He provided missionary outreach on the streets to all and in Nursing Homes and Hospitals as well.

He took great care of his family and was loved by all. He deeply cherished his children and grandchildren. Despite being sick for 7 years, Stephen was a fighter and still lived life to the fullest.

Stephen is predeceased by one sister Esther Bhulawan and one grandchild Sabria.

He is survived by his wife Karmena Mohammed Bhulawan, his loving children Wayne Bhulawan, Sherma Niles, Shiria Elliot (Keith), Stephanie Bhulawan and Stephen Bhulawan Jr. His grandchildren Rogel, Ranelle, Vanessa, Daniel, Mark, Shanika and Yousef. Stephen is also survived by his siblings Grace Bhulawan, Gloria Bhulawan, Joyce Singh, Patsy Balgobin, Stella Bhulawan, Sharifa Mohammed, Solomon Bhulawan and Robin Mohammed. He also levaes behind his former spouse Irma Baptiste

A Celebration of Reverend Bhulawan’s life will be Wednesday evening at 6PM at the Maranatha Faith Ministry International 30 Steuben Street Schenectady. A visitation will be from 5-6PM prior to the service. Face masks and social distancing are required.

Reverend Stephen will be cremated privately at the Parkview Crematory in Schenectady.

Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
