The Reverend Charles William Blacklock, Jr., 87, of Schenectady, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13th, surrounded by his loving sister, children, niece and friends. Charles was born on November 8, 1927, in New York City and served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. He worked for Central Hudson as a lineman for in Wappingers Falls, NY. He graduated Philadelphia Divinity School in 1968, was ordained as an Episcopal priest and had his first parishes in Star Lake and Herman, NY. He served as the priest for St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Schenectady, NY from 1971 to 1988. He drove buses for Wade Tours and trucks for Cargill. He was a Mason, a member of the Lion's Club and the American Legion and a long-serving Chaplain of the Schenectady Pipe Band. Charles was the son of Charles W. Blacklock and Barbara Constantine. Chuck was pre-deceased in 2012 by his beloved wife Gail Blacklock. Chuck is survived by his devoted sister Mildred Lincoln, his loving children Douglas Blacklock(Patty), Kim Blacklock, Bill Blacklock, Barbara Laird(Clark), Scott Homer and Kevin Homer, his cherished grandchildren Douglas, Matai, Mackenzie, Cameron, Amanda, Gryphon and Phoenix and devoted niece, Betsy Mathieson and caring nephew, Rob Lincoln. Chuck loved music and travelling to Scotland, Lake Placid and Long Island with his wife Gail. He touched everyone he met with his infectious smile and hearty laugh. Chuck loved people and family most of all. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 2pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 1911 Fairview Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours by request. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
