Rendie Lee Rouse-Jackson

Minister Rendie Lee, 81, of Schenectady departed this earthly life on Tuesday April 21, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Rendie Lee was born on January 10, 1934, in Kinston, NC to the late Roland and Laura Maye. Rendie completed her education in the NY University Continue Education program and the Junior College of Albany. She attended special training through the VA Hospital in Patient Administration. Rendie loved working with youth and giving back; in Albany, NY she worked at the Trinity Institute, EOC-Head Start Program and Thatcher homes Assoc. She continued her work with youth at the Nova Center in Kinston, NC. Minister Rendie Lee became a Soldier for the Lord as a young adult. She was ordained a Minister and she Ministered too many through her television production the Powerful Truth Ministry in Schenectady, NY. She was a faithful member of Mt. Olivet Baptist church for over 30 years. Rendie was predeceased by her first husband Blue Smith, husband Jasper Rouse; her daughter, Ana Rouse-Chatman; her God son, Vada Hoggs; her son-in-law Ezra Brown and her Grandson Michael L. DeVeaux and El-Shareem Noisette. Rendie leaves to cherish her memory; her sons, David (Chevail) Maye, Latham, NY; Kenneth (Francis) Maye, Sharon DeVeaux and Janice Rouse-Brown of Schenectady, Son-in-laws, Darrell Chatman, Schenectady, and Michael DeVeaux of Washington, D.C.; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grands, and a host of other relatives and friends that will be listed in the full obituary at the Home Going Celebration. Calling hours will be on Saturday, May 2 from 9-11am at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 1068 Park Ave., Schenectady, with funeral services following at 11am. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
