Raymond Shults 96 died Sunday morning March 26, 2006 at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness. A friend to all, Ray was born in Schenectady and the son of the late George and Mary Shults. A Navy veteran he served as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class during WWII. Raymond worked for over 20 years at the Wilson Sporting Goods Company in Schenectady and later worked for the government in the Department of General Services retiring in 1975. He was a 35 year member of the Rotterdam Elks and a former Elk of the year from 1989 to 1990. Raymond was predeceased in December of 1997 by his wife Grace M. Shults. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth L. Carpenter of Ballston Lake, a favorite nephew Walter Shults of Scotia and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, other niece, nephews and friends who loved him dearly. A memorial service will be held Wednesday morning March 29, 2006 at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. There will be no calling hours by request. Interment with Military Honors will be in Saratoga National Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to Habitat for Humanity, 5 Catherine Street, Schenectady, NY 12307
