Raymond K. Luce, 75 formerly of Myrtle Avenue in Rotterdam died on Sunday afternoon December 17, 2006 at Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville. Born in Troy, NY he was the son of the late Raymond D. and Hazel (Bly) Luce. A Navy veteran, Ray was a ship cook for Mobil Oil Corparation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks and the Moose Lodge.Raymond will be remembered for helping others. He enjoyed gardening. Survivor's include his five children, Mark R. Luce (Gerhild) of Austria, Edward S. Luce (Janet) of Rotterdam, Debra-Ann Mills(William) of Texas, Colleen A. Weires(George) of Scotia and Donna J. Tucker (William) of Clifton Park, a brother Paul Luce of Troy , a sister Shirley Taylor(Harold) of Halfmoon, 10 grandchildren, Genia Krassnig, Luna Luce, Raymond Luce, Edward Luce, Christina Luce, Amanda Weires, Danielle Weires, Nicholas Weires ,Sarah Tucker and Emily Tucker, former husband of Marguerite Lowe of Malta and several nieces and nephews. Ray was also predeceased by a brother Robert McKinnley. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours by request. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or to the American Diabetes's Association, 7 Washington Square Ave., Albany, NY 12205. The family would like to thank the staff of A-1 at the Glendale Home for their kind and compassionate care of Raymond during his illness.
