Raymond L Hickey

Raymond L. Hickey, 77, of DeForest Avenue, Rotterdam died Monday September 18, 2006 at St. Clares Hospital in Schenectady. Raymond was born in Troy, NY and was the son of the Late Raymond P. and Mary (Ryan) Hickey. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1947. Raymond served in the US Navy from 1951-54. He was employed as a police officer for the Troy Police Department and later was employed as a Computer Programmer for the NYS Department of Transportation until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland. Raymond was a member of the Schenectady Liederkranze, VFW Post 1895 and Rotterdam Elks 2157. He is predeceased by his daughter Linda Winney. Raymond is survived by his wife Ethel Canders Hickey whom he married February 22, 1968, one sister Sister Marilyn Hickey RSM of Guilderland, two Grandchildren James Winney(Lisa Ody) and Anthony Winney (David Gatzke) as well as several cousins and friend of the family Adam Titshaw.Funeral Services will be Saturday 9:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 10AM at St Madeleine Sophie Church 3500 Carman Road Guilderland. Calling Hours will be Friday evening 5-8PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Schenectady.
