Raymond Englehart, 95, of Rotterdam passed away at Ellis Hospital on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Born in Ballston Spa, Raymond was the son of the late Frank and Ethel (Abrams) Englehart. Raymond was a member of the US Army during World War II where he received a Purple Heart. Raymond worked for 40 years until his retirement in 1982 as a supervisor at Schenectady International. He was a member of Rotterdam United Methodist Church as well as the Schenectady Lion's Club, Rotterdam Elks, Rotterdam Seniors, Odd Fellows and the DAV. Raymond was predeceased by his brothers, Everett, Frank, Lawrence and Carl Englehart. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Jean M. (LeVinus) Englehart, his children, Raymond Englehart (Darlene), Albert Englehart (Diann) and Richard Englehart. Raymond is also survived by his grandchildren, Alina Bobar, Todd Englehart, Amy Badger, April Englehart and Julie Ahl and his great grandchildren, Abigail Plummer, Emily Plummer, Carlee Badger, Jacob Bobar and Alexandra Bobar as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at the request of the family. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Raymond's name can be made to a charity of one's choice.
