Raymond E. Brown, 83, of 2nd Avenue Rotterdam died Thursday at Ellis Hospital. Raymond was born in Watertown, NY. He was the son of the Late Louis E. Brown and Georgia (Norman) Brown. Raymond was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. He served in the Navy in World War 2. Raymond was employed for 8 years for the American Locomotive Company in Schenectady. He was then employed for 30 years for the General Electric Company in Schenectady, retiring in 1978 as a Supervisor in the Large Motor Generator Division. Raymond was a member of the Helderberg Reformed Church in Guilderland. He was also a member of St. George's Lodge F&AM, the Rotterdam Senior Citizen's, and the Helderberg Twirlers Square Dance Club. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers Clifford Brown, Carlton Brown and Burdette Brown. Raymond is survived by his wife Ethel Barton Brown of Rotterdam, two son's Douglas R. Brown (Kris) of Scotia and Paul L. Brown (Mary Pat) of Zanesville, Ohio also survived by 4 Grandchildren Laurie Brown, Tracy Brown, Jerry Brown and Aaron Brown. A Memorial Service will be Saturday evening 7PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
