Ralph C Caruso

Ralph C. Caruso, 85, passed peacefully April 5, 2016 after a long illness. He will now be joined with his late wife and soul mate, Betty, forever. Ralph owned and managed his own flower shop in Rotterdam for many years. He lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL for many years as well. He also served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. Ralph had a personality larger than life and loved to sing while playing his ukulele. He could get everyone to join him in his merriment, whether you wanted to or not! The family would like to thank Dr. Wendy Van Bellingham for all the years she cared for Ralph and Betty.. Thank you to all the nurses and aides who attended to Ralph, especially Teri Flood, and a special thanks to Joel Stafford, Sr. who spent many hours caring for Ralph daily for many years. He is survived by his loving children Maria Stafford of Rotterdam, Theresa Caruso (Alex Gonzales) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., and Bill Caruso (Susan) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., one sister Ursulina Altieri of Schenectady as well as 6 Grandchildren Luca, Shea, Nicki Caruso ,Casey (Bush) Carlson, Joel and Luisa Stafford also survived by 4 great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Ralph will be Saturday 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A calling hour will be 12-1PM prior to the service. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam. Ralph always had a big heart and would perform many acts of kindness by giving little gifts to friends and strangers. He always seemed to pay his good fortune forward as much as he could, even when it wasn't much. In lieu of flowers, be kind to someone today and make their day a little better.
