Ralph E Button

Ralph E. Button, 94, of Ontario Street Schenectady died Saturday June 30, 2007 at his daughter's home in Guilderland. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Arnold and Ethel ( Jesson) Button. Ralph was a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He was employed for 41 years at the General Electric Company in Schenectady, retiring as a Parts Specialist in the Turbine Division. Ralph was a member of the former Broadway United Methodist Church in Schenectady. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Ralph was active with the Boy Scouts serving as Scoutmaster for Troop 23 for 14 years and also received the Silver Beaver Award for his service to the Boy Scouts. He was also a member of the Automobilists of the Upper Hudson Valley. Ralph is predeceased by his wife of 68 years Mildred D. Button whom he married on May 28, 1938. He is survived by three children,Ralph E. Button Jr. ( Jean) of Bradenton Fl. , Bruce A. Button of Clarmont, Fl. and Barbara Mereness of Schenectady also survived by 8 Grandchildren-Sharon Eddy, Bruce Mereness, Janice Yant, Julie Park, Carol Price, Keith Button, Kim Button, and Brian Button as well as 11 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Friday evening 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Viewland Cemtery in Rotterdam.
