Pilar M. Seacord, 59, passed away tragically on Saturday April 22nd as a result of an automobile accident.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Pilar was the daughter of the late Jessie Curtis Williams and Janina Capellades Williams.
Pilar worked for many years at BJ’s in Chicopee Massachusetts. She also worked for Washington Inventory Service’s Springfield MA office before moving to Schenectady, NY. She worked for Key Corp and Safelite Auto Glass in the Capital Region before being diagnosed with various disorders that eventually led to her becoming disabled. She survived and persevered through the many trials and tribulations she faced while growing up into adulthood.
Pilar enjoyed dining out and was always willing to try new flavors and dishes. A prolific reader, she enjoyed books about true crime/criminal justice and history, but her favorite books were romance novels. She was an avid user of Facebook and Pinterest and found her place in several vibrant communities there. She would often brighten the days of fellow Facebookers with her posts of positivity, her “good morning” messages, photos of flowers, unique, colorful doorways and exotic locations. She did not leave out those without social media; she genuinely loved talking and texting messages of positivity to friends and family alike. Most of all, she was a caring, loving, empathetic, supportive woman who enjoyed life, and cared deeply for her family and friends. This beautiful woman, with her winning smile, infectious laughter and loving heart, will be sorely missed.
Pilar is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years, David R. Seacord of Schenectady, her brother, Jesse Williams of Westfield, MA, her mother and father-in-law, John and Cynthia Seacord of Rotterdam, her sister-in-law, Rebecca Ferger (Christopher) of Berlin, Maryland and her nephew, Rhys Ferger.
A visitation followed by a service to celebrate Pilar’s life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 beginning at 2 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. The service will begin at 4 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pilar’s memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Schenectady, PO Box 974, Schenectady NY 12301 or The Wildcat Sanctuary, PO Box 314, Sandstone MN 55072.
