Pietro Cammarota

Pietro Cammarota 67, passed away on Saturday Morning January 8th at his home surrounded by his beloved family.

Born in Casagiove Caserta, Italy, Pietro was the son of the late Domenico and Pasqualina (Vitale) Cammarota.

A former bus driver for the Guilderland Central School District for over 17 years, Pete was also the owner of CP Landscaping for more than 20 years.

A member of the Church of St. Adalbert, Pete played the bass, loved his music and enjoyed gardening. He was devoted to his family and was a cherished friend to all he knew.

Pietro is survived by his cherished wife of more than 40 years, Maria A. (DelVecchio) Cammarota and he was an incredible father and best friend of Marco Cammarota of Rotterdam. He was also survived by his sister, Carmen Cammarota Sirugo (Giovanni) of Italy, Anna Guercini (who was like a mom) in Italy, a brother-in-law, Francesco DelVecchio (Deborah) of Guilderland, nephews, Tommaso Sirugo (Giusy) of Italy and Ryan DelVecchio (Madison) of South Carolina, his niece, Nicole Sandor (James) of Guilderland, his Godchild, Salvatore Conte (Melissa) of Niskayuna and many aunts, uncles, great nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning January 13th at 11 am at the church of St Adalbert, 550 Lansing Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.

Private interment will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Pietro’s memory to Community Hospice (communityhospice.org) or the American Cancer Society (https://donate3.cancer.org) or to a charity of choice.

An outside gathering to celebrate Pietro’s life will be held in the future at a date time to be announced.
