Phyllis A. Brown 92, passed away Sunday February 5th at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Frank and Ada (Burdick) Becker and a graduate of Draper High School. A homemaker, Phyllis was a member of Bellevue Reformed Church and a former member of the Eastern Star. The beloved wife for 72 years of Arthur W. Brown who she married on September 28, 1944, Phyllis is also survived by her children Carol Nitsche (William) of Rotterdam Junction and Bruce Brown (Linda) of Rotterdam, her brother, William Becker (Judy) of Rotterdam, her sister, Marjorie Glindmeyer of Schenectady, her grandchildren, Laura Brown (Lawrence), Debra Nitsche and Sharon Handerhan (Bruce), her great grandchildren, Kevin Brown(Kate), Casey Conrad (Sam), Jake Handerhan and Luke Handerhan and her great great grandson, Wesley Conrad and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday morning February 9th at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A celebration gathering will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11 am prior to the memorial service. Interment in Schenectady Memorial park will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bellevue Reformed Church, 2000 Broadway, Schenectady, NY 12306.
