Phulkuaria Ramgovind (Singh)

Phulkuaria Ramgovind, 93, of Schenectady passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday September 14, 2019. Born in Guyana, she was the daughter of the late Kissoon and Jasodra Singh.

She was a home maker.

Phulkuaria is predeceased by her husband Pooran Ramgovind, one daughter Dharmattie Yasin and two brothers Buddy and Oscar and two sisters Mudas and Betty.

She is survived by two sons Karamchand Puran of Queens and Lochan Gobin of Schenectady, four daughters Parbatti Arjune of Schenectady, Basmatti P. Davidson of Queens, Urmila K. Persaud of Schenectady and Shanta Lalbahadur of Schenectady.

Phulkuaria is also survived by her grandchildren Deonarine Arjune, Jeff Arjune, Sabita Arjune, Amorita R. Davidson, Trisha Puran, Rakesh Puran, Nalini Puran, Randy Puran, Sherry Yasin, Tariq Yasin, Cassandra Gobin, Jackie Parisi and Sharda Lalbahadur. She leaves behind also her great grandchildren Nicky,Amy, Sachin, Govinda, Pritesh, Sabrina, Kevin, Nadia, Joe, Emma, Brayden, Jaeda, Jemma, Jordana, Ellie, Maddie, Shaneza, Shameer and others.

She is the mother in law of Junie, Brown, the late Kalloo, Sonny, Mohan, Sabo and Vidya. And leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Phulkuaria’s life will be Saturday September 21, 2019 beginning at 7AM with visitation 9-12 at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Visitation will also be held Friday evening 6-9PM at the funeral home.

A Ceremony will follow the funeral home service on Saturday at the Parkview Crematory.
