Philomen Jasmine Lemme "Toy-Toy" Henry

December 11, 1992 — May 22, 2023

Philomen “Toy Toy” Henry was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 11, 1992, to parents Leslie-Ann Clarke and Timothy Henry. As an infant, Philomen visited her parent’s homeland of Trinidad and Tobago and was nicknamed “Toy Toy” by her great-grandmother, Carmen Clarke. At the age of 10, her parents relocated to Upstate New York and eventually settled in Schenectady.

Toy was always full of joy. She made friends everywhere she went, at school, the park, social clubs, etc. Toy made a lasting impression on everyone she was in contact with. She loved animals, one of her dreams was to become a Veterinarian and take care of different kinds of animals. She started to move towards that dream before she was taken away. She became a dog breeder via her fur baby, Knuckles. Toy also enjoyed cooking. Holding on to her Trinidadian culture, Toy started a cooking business. One of her most popular dishes was curry chicken and rice. Her baked mac and cheese with bbq chicken was also among one of her most frequently sold out dishes. Toy’s business was booming and on the rise.

Toy was a dedicated mother to Ahsef and Lily-Ann Tillman. She cherished them and was the best mom she could be. She enjoyed taking her babies to school every morning, and reading stories to them at night. Teaching her kids how to ride bikes, doing their hair and helping with their schoolwork was among her daily joys. Toy made sure she never missed a single football game for her son, Ahsef. She enjoyed one on one time with Lilly, making TikTok videos sharpening their mommy/daughter dance skills. She was a proud god parent to Zion, Nyarie and TJ, spending as much free time with them as possible.

Toy enjoyed family time. She loved to cook out and never needed a reason to get together to do so. It didn’t matter the time of day or what season it was, when Toy felt like getting all her family together, all you had to hear her say was “What’s the word?”. Once you heard her say those words, you knew “it was lit!”. She was always seen having fun, making jokes and dancing to her favorite soca music. She always represented her Trinidad flag colors, red, white and black. She was a force to be reckoned with and when it came to her family, she always had their back.

Toy was the second oldest child on her maternal side of her family. Leaving behind her loving grandmother and best friend, Mommy Ann, eldest sister Sierra, younger brothers, Amano, Timmion, Micaiah and Jacaiah, and younger sisters, Timmia and Aniyah. Toy was a loving aunt to her nephew Aiden and her nieces Ayame and Leilani. She was super excited for the upcoming arrival of her two new nieces from Aniyah and Timmia. On her paternal side of her family, Toy was the eldest sibling, leaving behind her Grandmother Philomen Mcfee-Ndiaye, whom she was named after; her sisters Mei’ling, Tien, brothers, Chance, Jayden and many more. Toy was loved by all, leaving behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who adored her.

No amount of time will ever help us deal with not having Toy physically among us. As time goes on, we will forever keep her spirit and legacy alive. Remembering the light she exuded and what she stood for. We will forever carry Toy in our hearts, until we meet again.

Long Live Toy.
