Philip Martinelli

Rotterdam - Philip J. Martinelli, 91, entered into eternal rest, April 14, 2024. Born in Schenectady on July 1, 1932 to the late Joseph and Anna Martinelli.

Philip was passionate about horses, gardening and cooking. Philip went into the masonry, construction business with his father and brother.  He went on to own his own building construction company as well as continued the masonry business. He also filled one of his dreams of completing his GED in his later years.

Philip was predeceased by sisters Mary Snyder, Virginia Giorgio and brother Joseph Martinelli. Also; former wives/friends Elinor Bailey and Martha Prichard. Survived by his sister Rita Rambler.

Philip was a beloved father of 9 children Maureen (Melvin) Hitchcock, Larry Martinelli, Todd (Lori) Martinelli, Jeffrey (Dee) Martinelli, Tina (Paul) Forchilli, Randy (Gina) Martinelli, Coreen (Michael) Prysmont, Gina (Bill) LaRoe and Tonya Collins. Philip is a cherished grandfather of several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank his best friends Paul and Ella May for their lifelong friendship of many decades along with his home health care aides Holly and Denise during his early onset illness. We would also like a special thanks to the Schenectady Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Home care team for their compassion and dedication for the care of our father.

As we mourn his passing let us also celebrate his remarkable life that he lived. May he rest in eternal peace.
