Peter D Pallescki Sr

Peter D. Pallescki Sr. 94 passed away early Thursday October 6th at Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center. Born and educated in Schenectady, Peter was the son of the late Dominick and Jenny (Terribile) Pallescki and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. A World War II Army veteran, Peter was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne OSS division under General William Donovan (Donovan Devils). This group was responsible for jumping behind enemy lines and organizing the Italian resistance against the German Army. A member of the GE Quarter Century Club, Peter was also a member of Local 301 ,a former shop steward and a member of the Sky Pilots. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching his John Wayne western movies and his yearly reunions of his airborne unit. Predeceased by his siblings, Frank, Armond, Tony, Julia and Antoinette. Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Nancy (Miller) Pallescki of Schenectady, his children; Peter Palleschi Jr. (Elaine) of Rotterdam and Carolyn Pallescki (William Newton) of Salisbury, VT, his 5 grandchildren; Melissa Lenihan, Jason Lenihan (Jennifer), James Lenihan, Peter Palleschi (Colleen) and Michael Palleschi (Shannon), 7 great grandchildren; Jayna, Jack, Mary, Benjamin, Madeleine, Cassidy and Nicholas along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 12 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 12 prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
