Peter A Bazar

Peter Bazar, 70, of Niskayuna and Fort Myers Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2018 at home, surrounded by his devoted family after a long, brave battle with cancer. Peter "Boodie" Bazar was born January 24, 1948 in Troy, NY, the son of Peter and Helen (Sajesky) Bazar. He was a graduate of Troy High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. Peter retired from the New York State Tax Department in 2005, after 38 years of service in various positions. Together with Joyce, he raised two grandsons Michael and Dylan Waldron. Peter was a great lover of all sports, as a participant and a spectator. In his youth he played South Troy little league baseball and later played softball with the New York State Tax League. He was a member of a bowling league and also of Rody's Dart League. His long-time passion was golf and he played golf with the New York State Tax Department Golf league for several decades. Pete coached Niskayuna Babe Ruth for several years and took Tae Kwon Do training with his grandsons and earned a black belt. Peter was predeceased by his father Peter Bazar. Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 38 years, Joyce (Thomas) Bazar, seven grandchildren, his mother Helen Bazar and brother Jack Bazar (Denise) of Longview, TX, and sister Elaine Desalvo (Dr. C. Joseph) of Bonita Springs, FL. He is also survived by several beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and his many friends. A Celebration of Peter's life will be Thursday May 31, 2018 from 5-6:30PM with a service at 6:30PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Burial will be private for family at the Old Stone Fort Cemetery in Schoharie, NY.
