Patricia L. Tarr 77 of Highpoint Circle East in Naples, Fl. and formerly of Schenectady died Tuesday morning January 8th, 2008 at the Joan Nicole Prince Home in Scotia after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Laucht. A graduate of Ithaca High School, Patricia received her Bachelors degree in Sociology from Empire State College. A homemaker, Pat worked for over 10 years for Schenectady County as a social worker before retiring in 1985. She was a member of St Williams Church in Naples, Fl., and a volunteer with meals on wheels, the Nature Conservancy,the battered Women's Shelter and home care thru St Williams Church. She was former usher at S.P.A.C. and a mentor for the Guadalupe Outreach Program of Immokalee. Pat was a person who demonstrated grace, dignity and strength throughout her life, including over the course of the past year. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving her.Patricia was predeceased in 2004 by her husband Charles F. Tarr who she married on September 4, 1954. She is survived by her five children, Mark A. Tarr of Albany, Patti A. Wilson (Timothy) of Scotia, Andrea M. Robert (Val) ,Terri E. Schaefer (Ken) and Meg M. Frank (Tony) all of Schenectady, six grandchildren, Jesse Robert, Matthew Robert, Kenny Schaefer, Steve Schaefer, Kristine Schaefer and Kayla Schaefer and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon January 12th at 2 pm at First Baptist Church, 132 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The family would like to specifically thank the staff and volunteers of the Joan Nicole Prince Community Home for the loving care and compassion they provided. In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to the Joan Nicole Prince Home, 22 Glenview Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
