Patricia L Schmidt

Patricia (“Pat”) Lynn Schmidt (Chambers) of Oneonta, NY, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the age of 70, due to complications of Lymphoma. She was born on June 25, 1955, to Stella Chambers in Oneonta, NY. She married Lloyd (“Toad”) Schmidt, and together they shared 50 wonderful years.

Pat loved spending time with her family and dedicated herself to her loved ones, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and “Grannie,” loved by all, who treated everyone with kindness and compassion. She also enjoyed camping, country music (and was a huge fan of Alan Jackson), sewing, shopping, traveling, and living life with joy and positivity. She also had a passion for collecting and sharing recipes, creating meals and memories that brought her family together. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she found great joy in giving gifts and bringing everyone together to celebrate.

She is survived by Lloyd Schmidt; Farah Simmons (John); Zebulon Schmidt (Megumi); Heath Schmidt (Tara); and her grandchildren: Jade, Rayne, Ari, Hana, Felix, and Hazel.

A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Ouleout Valley Post #1689, 327 Main St, Franklin, NY 13775, on May 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and forever remembered for the love, warmth, and happiness she brought into their lives.
