Patricia A King

Patricia A. King 73 of Rotterdam died early Thursday morning September 25th at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born and educated in Schenectady, Patricia was the daughter of the late Leon and Geraldine Gourley and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Patricia was a Management information Supervisor for Visiting Nurse Services of Schenectady for over 13 years and had previously worked in accounts receivable for Al Lawrence Insurance. A member and Sunday school teacher at Messiah Lutheran Church, she was a former Sunday school teacher and youth group advisor at Stanford United Methodist Church. Patricia enjoyed gardening and her many outings with family and friends. Survivors include her husband of 29 years Richard M. King, her children, Jeffrey Thomas (Judy) of Alplaus, NY, Steven Thomas (Kaylyn) of Delanson and Kimberly Peterson of Schenectady, step-children, Julieann Lind (Jeff) of Green Island and Laura Marie King of St. Petersburg, FL, her grandchildren, Ben Peterson Andy Peterson, Ashley Peterson, David Atkinson, Brian Atkinson an Heather Malozzi, step-grandchild, Jeffrey Lind and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning October 4th, 2008 at 11am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2850 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Messiah Lutheran Church or Catholic Charities Transportation services or to a charity of one's choice. Patricia's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Catholic Charities Transportation Department, the ICU nurse's at Ellis Hospital, Dr Scudder and the Vascular group of Schenectady, Dr William Vacca, Dr David and staff from the wound care center, Dr Voleti and staff, the nurse's ,aide's and other staff that she became friends with at St Clares Hospital, the nurse PT and OT at Visiting Nurse services and Rev Roberta Place for her time spent with Patricia.
