Patricia Ruth Gentile (Hodoroski)

Patricia R. Gentile (Patty) passed away on Monday January 21st surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 21, 1938 in Watervliet, NY to William and Ruth Hodoroski. She then moved to Rotterdam, NY where she raised her family and was a lifelong resident.

Patty attended St. Columba’s School in Schenectady, NY. She worked for New York Telephone Company and then on to Price Chopper until her retirement after twenty-nine years. Patty also enjoyed donating her time to the Rotterdam Little League and Babe Ruth organizations.

She is survived by her husband of forty-five years Richard W. Gentile Jr. Her three beloved sons Gene Ballmes Jr. (Kathy), David Ballmens (Holly) and Richard W. Gentile III (Lesley). Her cherished stepdaughters Laurie Gentile, Denise Gentile (John Quay) and Richelle Strube (James). Her brothers William Hodoroski Jr. (Barbara), Richard Sheehan (Rhonda), Robert Sheehan (Sharon) and sister Patricia Pena. Her grandchildren Gene III, Brent, Britney, Kayla, Jacob, Lauren, Renee, John Jr., Jasen, Kyle and Gannon. Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Patty’s giant smile, kindness, generosity and love of laughter will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life ceremony Saturday January 26th from 5-7 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY.
