Orville R. Cavert, 79, of Sandalwood Lane, Scotia died Tuesday at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Ralph and Evelyn (Hewett) Cavert. Orville served in the US Marines from 1946-47. He was employed as an Instrument Fitter for Plumbers and Steamfitters Union # 7. Orville coached Little League for many years in Burnt Hills. He and his wife loved going to Lake Placid and campimg at Fish Creek. Orville was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Beverly Biggerstaff Cavert whom he married January 18, 1947, three sons Alan Cavert (Max) of Catskill, Brian Cavert (Heidi) and Craig Cavert both of Clifton Park, two daughters Rory Coons (Edwin) of Superior, Montana, Terry Pezzi (Joe) of Glenville, one sister Dolores Bishop of Lakeland, Fl, also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday 2PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. A Calling Hour will be Friday 1-2PM at the Funeral Home. Internment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie. Contribution's can be made in Orville's memory to the Capital District Dialysis Center Inc. 650 McClellan Street Schenectady NY 12304. The family would like to extend a "Thank You" to the Nursing Staff at Ellis Hospital and to Dr. Schumacher at the Dialysis Center for their care of Orville.
