O.W. (Bill) Clinger MD 100 of Mayfield died Thursday evening September 21, 2006 at home of natural causes. Born in Fagunduf, PA he was the son of the late A. V and Calla Clinger. A World War II Navy veteran, Bill was a graduate of Princeton University and received his Medical degree from McGill University in Montreal Canada. He was a Professor at the University of Rochester, the Director of the Alcoholic Clinic in Rochester and also ran a private Psychiatry practice for many years. Bill was predeceased in 2002 by his wife of 66 years Lois Montgomery Clinger and his son Robert Clinger. He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Peet and her husband Rev. Donald Peet of Mayfield, a daughter-in-law, Susan Clinger Lange and husband Woodie of Alfred, NY, six grandchildren, Beth Benson, Jean Yorio, Christopher Peet, Cheryl LaPrade, Trevor Peet and Heather Cosby, nine great grandchildren and a niece, Ann Kampf of Westchester, PA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning September 30, 2006 at 11 am at the 2nd Reformed Church of Rotterdam, 118 Putnam Road, Schenectady, NY 12306. Interment will be in Whitehaven Cemetery, Rochester, NY Contributions may be made in his memory to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. main Street,Gloversville, NY or to 2nd Reformed Church of Rotterdam, 118 Putnam Rd., Schenectady, NY 12306.
