Olivia M Young

Olivia M. Young, 67, of Schenectady died Friday December 19, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany surrounded by her loving family. Born in Johnstown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt and Ann (Brandow) Stewart. She was a graduate of Ellis Hospital School of Nursing. Olivia was employed for the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany as a Nurse and later was employed as a Nurse for the Kingsway Manor in Schenectady. She was a member of the Duryee AME Church in Schenectady and was an active leader in the church. Olivia was a leader of leaders. She never complained and was there for everybody. Olivia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She is predeceased by two brothers-Richard Bowman and James Bowman and one sister Shirley Marshall. Olivia is survived by her loving husband Raymond J. Young whom she married August 11, 1977, three children-Lisa C. Davenport (Gregory) of Schenectady, Douglas Terry (Shanda) of Schenectady, and Raymond C. Young (Erin) of Schenectady, three sisters-Sylvia B. Lewis of Schenectady, Florence Bowman of Palm Bay, Fl. and Frances DuBoise of Schenectady, one sister in law Adell Hendricks of Albany, also survived by 14 Grandchildren-Olivia, Greg Jr., Dewanna, Doug Jr., Christia, Corinthia, Deschel, Damond, Devon, Desmond, LaDainian, Ramel, LaShanda and Shaquil and 4 Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be Friday December 26, 2008 at 12 noon at the Duryee AME Church 307 Hulett Street Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Friday 10-12 at the church. Internment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Schenectady. Contributions can be made in Olivia's memory to St. Peter's Hospice Inn 315 S. Manning Blvd Albany, NY 12208. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
