Norma Meyer

Norma G. (Gannon) Meyer - Norma G. Meyer, 60, beloved wife of Edwin Meyer lost her battle with cancer on May 2, 2007 at her home in North Port, Florida. In addition to her husband she is the loving mother of Robert B. Gannon, of Schenectady, William C. Gannon of North Port, FL, Joseph Gannon of Colonie, Donald Meyer of South Salem, NY and Eleanor Barta of St Simons Island, GA. Norma is also survived by six grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, cousins, nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Schenectady she was born on Dec 29, 1946 to Benjamin and Ethel (Betty) Jeski and was there only child. Upon graduation from Mont Pleasant High School she took a position with NYS Narcotics Addictions Control Commission. On January 31, 2003, after 36 years of service and advancement she retired a Senior Personnel Administrator for NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. She was a member of St John the Evangelist Church, was enjoyed bowling & golf, but her greatest enjoyment came in the time she spend on the beaches of South West Florida with family and friends. In lieu if flowers the family is asking the donations be made in the her to name to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 27106, NY, NY, 10087 or Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238. A memorial service will be held on Thursday morning May 24, 2007 at St John the Evangelist Church, 802 Union Street, Schenectady, NY at 11am, the family will receive friends and family at the church.
