Nihla Marie Primett Heaney

Nihla Marie Primett Heaney, 96, passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2015 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. Born in Oneonta, Nihla was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ida Primett. After receiving her Associates Degree from Mildred Elley, Nihla worked many jobs including her job as bookkeeper for Senate Plumbing. She was also a wonderful homemaker. Nihla was an avid gardener and artist, and she also taught ceramics. She loved to camp. Nihla is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, James P. Heaney, Sr., as well as her son, James "Jamie" P. Heaney, Jr. and her sister, Beverly Garvey. She leaves behind her son, Shawn T. Heaney of League City, TX, 3 grandchildren, Shawn, Timothy and Joseph Heaney and 2 great grandchildren, Christian, and Jameson. Nihla also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed. A graveside service for Nihla will be held in the Friday June 12th at 2 pm at Memory's Gardens , in Colonie NY.
