Mrs Paulette A Callahan

Paulette A. Callahan 65 died Sunday October 3rd at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. Born in Niskayuna, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Davis) Andrew and a graduate of the former Draper High School. A former teacher's Assistant at Schenectady Head Start, Paulette and her husband Lewis were foster parents for over 20 years. Paulette was a wonderful wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother and great grandmother who thoroughly loved spending time with her family. Paulette loved camping, attending NASCAR races, shopping trips to New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, traveling, going on cruises and painting crafts. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her baking cookies, making arts and crafts, trips to Yankee Candle Shop, playing games , supplying glow bands and hot coca on Halloween and her cheering them on at the many sports events she attended. Paulette is survived by her husband of 45 years Lewis W. Callahan who she married July 10, 1965, her children, Gary Callahan (Marie) of Sloansville, NY Charlene Carp (Jason) of Norman, OK, Robin Ehlers (Joe) of Rotterdam and Monica Ward of Schenectady a brother Raymond Andrew (Carol) of Rotterdam, grandchildren, Sarah, Tom, Aubrey, David, Brandon, Dylan, Lewis, Jordan and Justice, great grandson, Troy and 58 foster children and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Friday morning October 8, 2010 at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 to 11am prior to the services. Interment in Schenectady Memorial Park.
