Michael R Lamp

Michael R. Lamp 51 of Scotia died Thursday evening January 22nd at St Peter's Hospice Inn after a short illness. Born in Niskayuna, Michael was the son of the late John Lamp and Dorothy (Bush) Lamp of Scotia. A graduate of Schalmont High School, he attended Schenectady County Community College. A former member of the Air National Guard, he was a firefighter for over 23 years and worked for the State of New York at Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, NY. A former volunteer with the Rotterdam Junction Fire Department and Schonowee Fire Department, he was an active member of the Beukendaal Fire Department. Beside is mother Dorothy, Michael is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jeannette (Wederman) Lamp and his daughters, Jessica and Jo-Anne Lamp both of Scotia and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral service will be held on Monday morning January 26th at 11am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening January 25th from 5 to 9 pm with a firefighters service being held at 6 pm. Interment in Viewland Cemetery at a later date.
