Michael Anthony Famiano, 62, died peacefully January 15, 2010 with his wife and children by his side. Michael was born in Schenectady, NY and raised his family in nearby Rotterdam. Michael relocated his family in 1987 to Bucks County, PA and again moved to Louisville, KY in 1998. He and his wife retired to Summerfield, FL in 2002. Michael graduated from Linton High School in 1965 and worked for Five Corners Pizzeria, Price Chopper, and enjoyed 32 years of dedicated service at General Electric, Co. Michael was also a member of the Air National Guard for 10 years. A lover of sports and cars, Michael was a member of numerous organizations, including the Rotterdam Elks Lodge, Delaware Valley Corvette Club (PA), and River Cities Corvette Club (KY).Michael was peceeded in death by his beloved mother Dorothy Gallucci Famiano. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Linda (Donohue) Famiano, Summerfield, FL; daughter, Alissa Famiano, West Milford, NJ; son, David Famiano, Philadelphia, PA; father, John Famiano, Schenectady, NY; sisters Anita Famiano, Scotia, NY and Lisa (Famiano) Rapp and family, Latham, NY. In addition, Michael leaves behind a wealth of extended family members, close friends, and acquaintances near and far whose lives have no doubt been touched by this exceptional man. A memorial service will held Monday morning January 25th, 2010 at 11am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11 am prior to the service.Michael has requested no flowers or gifts for the family.
