Melissa Ann Bressette

Melissa Ann Bressette 46, passed away on Sunday September 25,2022 surrounded by family after a lengthy courageous battle.

Born in Troy, NY, in 1976, Melissa was the daughter of Sharon A. (Cocco) Bressette and the Late Frederick Bressette.

A graduate of Heatly High School, Melissa received her associates degree as a Veterinary Technician from SUNY Delhi. She started her career with animals in high school and worked in local vet clinics and animal hospitals. She most enjoyed working at an animal shelter, spanning over a decade as a Veterinary Technician for the Animal Protective Foundation in Scotia, NY. Her love of animals carried over into her personal life; volunteering as a Puppy Raiser with Guiding Eyes for the Blind, working with local pet rescues and enjoyed welcoming many pets and fosters in her home Melissa always enjoyed her summer home at Caroga Lake with family and friends .

She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and friend. She had a contagious positive outlook and sense of humor. She enjoyed vacations to Cape Cod and whale watches, Christmas music year-round, and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Melissa is survived by her beloved wife Sarah M. (Buckner) Bressette, her mother, Sharon A. Bressette ((Edward O’Connor) of Green Island, her brother Frederick Bressette Jr. of Green Island, her mother-in-law Regina Haran of Oneonta as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held on Saturday October 1st from 2 to 5 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady.
