In Loving Memory of May Canelli

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved May Canelli, a cherished grandmother, mother, sister, and friend. May departed this world peacefully on January 11th 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

May was a beacon of love, strength, and wisdom. Born on July 3rd 1948 in Schenectady New York, she carried with her a rich legacy of tradition, kindness, and resilience. Her life was a testament to the power of family, faith, creativity, and unwavering generosity.

She had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Whether through the warmth of her home or the meals she prepared with care, May brought people together and created countless treasured memories. Her wisdom, patience, and humor left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May’s greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her husband Edmondo Canelli, daughter Laura Gaffers, and son Mark Canelli, who will carry forward her legacy of love and strength. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Jonathan (30), Jennifer (25), Andrew (33), and Matthew (25), each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

May’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on through the lives she touched.

Rest in peace, dearest May. You will be forever missed and always remembered.

A Celebration of May’s life will be held on Tuesday January 21st, 2025 at 11am at Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady Friends and family are invited to come together to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life.
