Matthew W Longood

Mathew W. Longood ,61, passed away suddenly Wednesday September 28, 2016. Born in Yonkers, Matthew was the son of the late Robert and Alice (Letham) Longood and attended Guilderland High School. An Army veteran, Matthew had worked for Marta Track Construction Company in Pennsylvania for several years and was a member of the American Legion. A fun loving man Matthew enjoyed cooking, fishing and joking with others as well as cheering on the Steelers. He enjoyed spreading his knowledge of sports, business, and history. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. He always had his guitar near by. Mathew is survived by his children, Ryan P. Longood, Erin J. Longood and Randy P. Winne of Schenectady, his wife Kathy J. (Sebast) Longood of Schenectady, grandchildren, Ariana and Dylan Longood ,brothers, Dave Longood of Oregon and Bo Longood of PA and his sister Amy Keller of PA. A memorial service for Matthew will be held on Thursday evening October 6th at 6 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. Visitation will follow the memorial service till 8 pm. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors.
