Maryann F. Looman,72, of Princetown passed away at home on Thursday February 18, 2021. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late William and Celia (Derajtis) Nejman.
She was a graduate of St. Adalbert’s Elementary School, Notre Dame High School and Mildred Elley Business School. Upon graduation, she worked for the General Electric Company until her marriage to her husband David when she became a stay at home mom. Maryann later returned to the work force and worked at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home and in the Niskayuna Family Practice. When Maryann retired, she volunteered at the Sunnyview Hospital in the gift shop.
Maryann was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Rotterdam and was a member of the church Rosary Society and volunteered at the church festa.
She enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling in the family RV and fishing with her family. Maryann loved spending time with her grandchildren playing cards and board games. She was also very passionate about her four-legged grandchildren.
Maryann is predeceased by her husband David Looman.
She is survived by her three loving children Daniel D. Looman (Paula) of Macedon, NY, Michelle Shafer (Scott) of Scotia and Melissa Looman of Dixmont, ME. She is also survived by five loving grandchildren-Justin, Nicholas, Hannah, Parker and Tyler as well as her life time friend Pat Montone of Schenectady.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 9:30AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Road in Rotterdam. There will be no calling hours by request.
Spring interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Princetown.
Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
In lieu of no flowers, contributions can be made in Maryann’s memory to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Road Schenectady, NY 12306.
