Mary F. Jewett 98 formerly of Rotterdam died Tuesday afternoon at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Pattersonville, she was the daughter of David and Joanna Mann. A homemaker, Mary worked for the General Electric Company during WW2 and was a practical nurse at Ellis Hospital for several years. Mary was a member of Bellevue Reformed Church and a past president of the Women's Guild, a member of George Hope Chapter of the Eastern Star, a former member of the Gifford Grange, a past president of Boy Scout troop 22, a life member of NY State PTA and a former district director of the PTA. Mary was predeceased in 1960 by he husband of 37 years Howard L. Jewett and six siblings Frederick, Leland and George Mann, Henrietta Talbot, Lillian LaGrange and Elsie Harvey. Survivors include her children William H. Jewett of Brielle, NJ, Roy D. Jewett of Schenectady and Ann Paine of Barefoot Bay, Fl., two sisters Joann Paul of Malta, Montana and Grace Gurney of Corinth, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday morning February 11, 2006 at 9 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady for a visitation followed by a graveside service at 10am at Schenectady Memorial Park.
