Mary L Colon (Harblin)

Mary L. Colon, 85, of Amsterdam passed away on Friday May 7 2021 at her daughter’s home. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Percy and Ruth (Schmidt) Harblin.

She was employed as a stenographer for the NYS Department of Education, retiring in 1982. Mary had been a member of the former Albany Street Methodist Church.

Mary was predeceased by her longtime companion of 50 years Louis Colon, one son Robert Clark, one brother Lester Harblin and one sister Kathleen Presseisen.

She is survived by her son Michael Colon of St. Pete Beach, Fl., her daughter Tina Colamarino of Amsterdam, one brother Richard Harblin of Middle Grove, NY and one sister Patricia Harblin of Clifton Park. Mary is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Mary’s life will be Tuesday evening from 4-6PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
