Mary E. Aldershoff, 86, of Rotterdam passed away Thursday February 28, 2013 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Burnt Hills, NY, she was the daughter of Rene J. and Mary B. Cote. She was a graduate of Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School. Mary was employed for 20 years as a Secretary in the Turbine Payroll Office for GE and then became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland. Mary loved music and played the piano, accordion and violin. She also enjoyed canning and working on the family farm. The family would like to thank Lucy Miranda and their cousin Mike Miranda for always helping us with mom's care. We also would like to say a special thank you to her best friends Rich and Thelma Askew for always being there for mom. Mary is predeceased by her husband John K. Aldershoff , two brothers Robert Ryder and Edward Cote and one sister Virginia Cote. She is survived by two sons Vernon R. Aldershoff (Jackie) of Rotterdam and Robert T. Aldershoff (Cristy) of Lexington Park, MD, one brother Gordon Cote of Stanford, CT, one sister Eleanor Dwyer of Cohoes, also survived by 4 Grandchildren Dmitri, Jasmine, Willem and Walker Aldershoff. Funeral Service will be Tuesday 9:15 AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 10AM at St. Madeleine Sophie Church 3500 Carman Road in Guilderland. Calling hours will be Monday evening 6-8PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam. Contributions can be made in Mary's memory to the Rotterdam Babe Ruth League.
