Mary Ellen Boscia passed into Heaven peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior Face to Face on Saturday evening at home, 5/4/2024, after a 4 year debilitating condition at the age of 94 years old. Family and Friends were with her.
Mary Ellen was born in Schenectady on 4/6/1930. She was raised in a 2 Family house on Euclid Ave. with her parents and 5 Brothers till she was married.
Mary Ellen graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and started working as a secretary in downtown Schenectady. She would take the bus or walk to work until she started dating the Love of her life, Nick Boscia, who would give her rides home. Mary Ellen wrote a book, “A Nick in Time”, telling their love story.
After Mary Ellen married Nick, she worked alongside of her husband building their business, Boscia’s Liquor Discount House. They started in a small store front and lived in an apartment attached behind. There they raised their 4 daughters and continued to work together.
Mary Ellen was loving, friendly and full of Faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was always putting others before herself. She had a servant’s heart and loved entertaining family and friends. Mary Ellen enjoyed playing tennis with her husband, daughters, grandchildren and friends. She also enjoyed Florida in the winter with family. Mary Ellen affected many lives and will be missed. Her family is grateful to the aides who gave her such devotion and loving care the last 4 years. They are forever friends.
Mary Ellen is survived by 4 daughters, Linda Gadus (Steve), Donna Casso, Lenore Ferrara (Paul) and Renee Kaufman, 8 grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, one Brother, Raymond Nodar and many nieces, nephews and extended family located different places in the country.
Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Boscia, her grandson, Paul Steven Ferrara, her parents, Manuel Nodar and Mary Ellen (Iacovitti) Nodar and 4 Brothers.
Interment will be in Viewland Cemetery and there will be a private Celebration of Life.
