Marlene A. Simmons 58 of Hetcheltown Rd. died Saturday morning August 21, 2004 at St. Clare's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, Marlene was formerly of Reynolds Road and was a resident at Glendale Nursing Home for the past nine years. A graduate in 1964 of Draper High School, she also received an associate's degree from Albany Business College. Marlene was a homemaker and had worked as a teller at Key Bank for several years and was a member of the Church of St. Adalbert. She is survived by he husband for 36 years Robert W. Simmons, four children; Jaymylynn A. Norris and husband David of Schenectady, Kevyn R. Simmons of Wells, NY, Joseph M. Simmons of Princetown and William W. Simmons of San Francisco, CA, two grandchildren; John Robert Norris and Ashleigh Ann Norris, a sister; Carolee Kutey of Rotterdam, her father and mother-in-law; Walter and Virginia Simmons of Rotterdam and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning August 24, 2004 at 8:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed at 9 am at the Church of St Adalbert, Lansing Street, Schenectady where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours by request. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Marlene's memory to the Activities Committee C/O Glendale Nursing Home, 59 Hetcheltown Road, Scotia NY 12302 or to Van Corlaer School Library Fund, 2310 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY 12306 or to a Charity of Choice.
