Mark Joseph Lontrato, 46, a life-long resident of Rotterdam, NY passed suddenly and peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mark was a 1984 graduate of Schalmont High School and received an Associate's Degree in Business Management from SCCC . He worked intermittently for the federal government in Latham and the US Census Bureau in Cohoes. He was a competitive billiards player for 18 years, earning him the nickname "The Stick" and a member of the APA of NYS. He was awarded "League Player of the Month" in March 2006 with an article in "Inside POOL" national magazine. Mark affectionately known as "Botch" was also a charter member of the "Monday Night Poker Club". Mark was very active in his community and volunteered his time with Clover Patch Camp as a Counselor, Rotterdam Youth Soccer as a Coach and the So. Schenectady Fire Dept., as a Fire Police Officer. He was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Rotterdam. Mark is survived by his parents Anthony and Marilynn (Henderson) Lontrato of Saratoga, brother and sister-in-law John and Cheri (Brassard) Lontrato of Columbia, SC, sister Lin Lontrato of Rotterdam and beloved "Uncle Marky" to his nephews and nieces; Gino, Brent, Joey, Katie, Myranda and great nieces Madison, Mia, Areanna and Evalyn. The family will receive relatives and friends at Sonrise Bible Church,1082 Dunnsville Rd in Rotterdam on Friday from 6-7pm immediately followed by a Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Marks name to American Heart Assoc. or Multiple Sclerosis Society. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
